Ampe Rush · Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 October 2026 · Effective: 16 October 2026
The short version
- These terms are the agreement between you and Wontah for Ampe Rush. By playing, you accept them.
- You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and be in charge of purchases.
- Medallions, cowries and other items are a licence to use them in the game. They are not money, and you cannot cash them out or trade them.
- Apple or Google handle payments and refunds. No paid item has a random outcome.
- Play fair and choose a decent display name. We check every ranked run, and cheated runs and unfair gains are removed.
- If something goes wrong, email us first. Ghanaian law governs these terms, but you keep the consumer protections of the country you live in.
1.About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Adinan Alhassan, trading as Wontah, Ghana ("we", "us", "our"). They cover the Ampe Rush apps for iOS and Android, the web game at ampe.wontah.com/play, the website and our game services (together, the "Game").
These documents are part of the Terms:
- the Virtual Items, Currencies & Purchases Policy;
- the Fair Play & Community Rules;
- the End User Licence.
Our Privacy Policy and Advertising, Cookies & Similar Technologies notice explain how we handle your data. By installing, opening or playing the Game, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
2.Who can play
- You must be at least 13 years old. The Game is not directed to children under 13.
- If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must read and accept these Terms for you. They are responsible for your use of the Game, including any purchases. Our Children & Families guide helps parents set controls.
- You may not use the Game if the law of your country forbids it, or if we have closed your account before.
3.Your account
- The first time you play, the Game creates an anonymous account for your device. You can link a Google, Apple or Facebook account to keep your progress across devices. If you don't, deleting the app or clearing your browser data can lose your account for good.
- Keep your device and sign-in accounts secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account, unless someone used it without your permission and you were not careless.
- One person, one account in daily use. Do not sell, share, buy or transfer accounts.
- You can stop playing and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account, or see Delete your account).
4.Your licence to play
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install and use the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment, on devices you own or control, under these Terms and the rules of the store you got it from. The End User Licence sets this out in full, including Apple's terms for App Store downloads.
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
- copy, modify, translate, decompile or reverse engineer the Game, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- rent, sell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Game or any part of it;
- interfere with the Game, its servers or networks, or get around its security, rate limits or verification;
- break the Fair Play & Community Rules.
5.Ownership and cultural heritage
- We own the Game and its content: the code, graphics, characters, animations, sound and music, text, the names "Ampe Rush" and "Wontah", and our logos. Some parts may be licensed to us by others. Except for the licence in section 4, these Terms give you no rights in them.
- Ampe is a traditional game played across Ghana. It belongs to everyone, and we claim no ownership of its rules or its name as a game.
- Adinkra symbols (such as Sankofa, Gye Nyame, Akoma, Aya, Nkyinkyim and Funtunfunefu-denkyemfunefu) and kente patterns are part of the cultural heritage of the Akan and other peoples of Ghana. We draw our own versions of them and use them with respect. We do not claim them as ours, and nothing in these Terms limits anyone's right to use that heritage. If you think we have used a symbol or pattern in a way that is inaccurate or disrespectful, please tell us at support@wontah.com.
6.Virtual items and purchases
- Medallions and cowries are in-game currencies. They, and items such as kente shields, Adinkra artefact charges, outfits, upgrades and perks (together, "Virtual Items"), give you a limited, revocable licence to use them in the Game. You do not own them. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for real money or anything outside the Game, and cannot be sold, transferred, traded or gifted.
- Real-money purchases are available only in the iOS and Android apps, and they are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. Refunds go through the store. No paid item has a random outcome: you always get exactly what the store screen shows.
- We may correct balances changed by a mistake, a refund, a chargeback or a breach of these Terms. Virtual Items do not expire while your account is active. They end only when your account is deleted or closed, or when the Game is discontinued, and we will give you at least 30 days' notice in the Game before a discontinuation.
- The full rules, the price list and your consumer rights, including the EU and UK right of withdrawal, are in the Virtual Items, Currencies & Purchases Policy.
7.Fair play
Ranked runs are verified: our server replays your inputs with the Game's rules. Cheating, automation, exploiting bugs, multiple accounts used to farm rewards, and attacks on our services are not allowed. The Fair Play & Community Rules list what is and isn't allowed, what we can do if the rules are broken, and how to appeal.
8.Your display name and feedback
- The only things you can publish in the Game are your display name and country. Your name must follow the name rules. You confirm you have the right to use the name you choose.
- You give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display and share your display name and country in the Game (on leaderboards, friends lists and notifications) for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it ends, except for copies in backups for up to 7 days.
- Feedback: if you send us ideas, comments or suggestions (in the Game or by email), we may use them to improve the Game, without paying you and without any duty to keep them confidential. We will not publish your name with them without your permission.
9.Ads
The Game is free and is supported by ads that Google serves. Today, ads play only when you choose to watch one, for example for a continue or a reward. We do not show ads that interrupt play. If we ever change this, we will update our ads notice and tell you in the Game before the change. Advertisers are responsible for their own ads, products and websites, and we do not endorse them.
10.Friends, invites, notifications and sharing
- You can add friends with invite links or through Facebook. Friends see your display name, country and best scores. You may remove the connection by deleting your account, or, for Facebook friends, by removing Ampe Rush in Facebook.
- Sharing a score card or invite goes through your device's share sheet to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp). That app's terms apply to what you send. Share only with people who are happy to receive it.
- Push notifications and local reminders are optional: the game asks your phone's permission once, and you can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings.
11.Availability, updates and languages
- We work to keep the Game running and improving, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or the same. We may update, change or remove features, rules, balance, items, prices or leaderboards, for example to fix bugs, stop cheating or keep the Game fair. Some updates may be required before you can keep playing ranked runs.
- If a change takes away something you paid for with real money, we will act fairly. Depending on the case, we may replace it, offer an equivalent, or help you get a refund through the store. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
- Some features need an internet connection. Runs played offline are not ranked and do not earn cowries on our server.
- The Game is offered in English, and in Twi, Ewe, Ga and Dagbani as beta translations. These Terms and our other legal documents are in English, and the English version governs.
12.Suspension and termination
- You can stop at any time by deleting your account.
- We may suspend or close your account, or remove your access to features such as leaderboards, if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms. We may also act if we must do so to comply with the law, or to protect other players or the Game. Before we act, we will normally give you notice and the reason, by in-game message or any contact details we have, and a chance to respond. We will not give notice first if doing so would let you cause harm, hide evidence or keep cheating, or if the law forbids it.
- You can appeal any decision by emailing support@wontah.com with the subject "Appeal" (see Appeals).
- If we close your account for a serious breach, your Virtual Items end without refund, except where the law requires a refund. If we close it for any other reason, or discontinue the Game, we will give you at least 30 days' notice in the Game when we reasonably can.
- Sections 5, 6 (no cash value), 8 (feedback), 13, 14, 15 and 18 survive the end of these Terms.
13.Disclaimers
We provide the Game with reasonable care and skill. Apart from that, and from the rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be excluded, the Game is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no other promises or warranties, express or implied, including about fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or the absence of errors.
14.Our liability
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, business, data or goodwill. Nor are we liable for events beyond our reasonable control, such as network failures, store or provider outages, or natural events.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims about the Game is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Game and Virtual Items in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50 (or its equivalent in your currency).
- Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability the law does not allow us to limit. Nor does it limit your statutory rights as a consumer, such as your rights under Ghana's Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772), the consumer laws of the EU and its member states, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, or similar laws where you live.
15.Complaints, governing law and disputes
- Talk to us first. If you have a complaint, email support@wontah.com with the subject "Complaint" and your player ID. We will reply, and we will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days. Please give us that time before starting formal proceedings, unless something urgent cannot wait.
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and nothing here takes that away.
- Courts. The courts of Ghana have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you may also bring a claim in the courts of your home country, if its law allows it.
- You can also contact your local consumer protection or data protection authority.
16.Apple and Google
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. We alone, not Apple or Google, are responsible for the Game and its content.
- If you got the Game from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies, together with these Terms and the Apple-specific terms in our End User Licence. Those terms cover maintenance and support, warranty, product and intellectual property claims, legal compliance, and Apple's right as a third-party beneficiary to enforce them.
- If you got the Game from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Play's payment terms also apply to your download and purchases. Google is not responsible for the Game.
17.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when the Game, the law or our providers change. We will show the new date at the top and list the change on our Changes page. For material changes that affect you, we will tell you in the Game at least 30 days before they apply, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you do not agree, you can stop playing and delete your account before the change applies. If you keep playing after that, the new Terms apply.
18.General
- Whole agreement. These Terms, with the documents in section 1, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Game.
- If part is invalid, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfer. We may transfer this agreement to a company or person who takes over the Game, if your rights are not reduced. We will tell you in the Game. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms.
- Third parties. Except for Apple as described in section 16, no one else has rights under these Terms.
- Language. These Terms are written in English, and the English version governs.
