Virtual Items, Currencies & Purchases

The short version
- Ampe Rush has two currencies. Medallions pay for continues, streak saves and premium outfits. Cowries pay for shields, Adinkra charges, outfits and upgrades.
- You can earn both by playing. You can also buy packs in the iOS and Android apps. The web game has no real-money purchases.
- No paid item has a random outcome. You always get exactly what the store screen shows.
- Currencies and items are a licence to use them in the game. They are not money, so you cannot cash them out, sell them or give them away.
- They don't expire while your account exists. They end only if your account is deleted or closed, or if the game shuts down, and we give 30 days' notice in the game before a shutdown.
- Apple or Google handle refunds. Links are in section 9.
1.What this policy covers
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It explains the in-game currencies and items in Ampe Rush, how real-money purchases work, refunds, and your consumer rights. In this policy, "Virtual Items" means medallions, cowries, kente shields, Adinkra artefact charges, outfits and dances, upgrades and perks.
2.Medallions (premium currency)
How you get them
- A welcome gift of 5 medallions when your account is created.
- Daily goals (3 a day, 1 medallion each, plus 2 when you finish all three), your play streak, and the first time you reach each new stage.
- Watching an optional rewarded ad in the store: 1 medallion per ad, up to 5 a day.
- Buying medallion packs or the Starter Pack in the apps (section 6).
What you spend them on
- Continues: after a loss, you can continue the run. The first continue in a run costs 1 medallion, the second 3, the third 6, and the fourth and every later one 10. In each run, you can also take up to 3 continues by watching an ad instead.
- Streak saves: 2 medallions to save a streak after one missed day.
- Premium outfits and dances: a few wardrobe items priced in medallions (currently 14 to 20 medallions each).
3.Cowries (run currency)
How you get them
- Playing ranked runs: 1 cowry for each challenger you beat, 2 for each perfect read, and cowry strings carried by challengers. Cowries are credited only after our server verifies the run. Runs played offline or unranked do not earn cowries.
- Watching an optional rewarded ad: 200 cowries per ad, at least 20 seconds apart. To prevent fraud, there is a ceiling of 100 a day.
- Rewards, and buying cowry packs, the Starter Pack or the Double Cowries perk in the apps.

You can take up to 3 shields and 1 artefact charge from your bag into each run. Prices shown in the game are the ones that apply.
4.Items, perks and the Starter Pack
- Kente shields and artefact charges are used up when used in a run. Found items go to your bag or album only when the run is verified.
- Outfits, dances and upgrades stay on your account once bought or earned.
- Double Cowries (one-time purchase) doubles the cowries credited for each verified run, for as long as your account exists. Ad rewards, store packs and other rewards are not doubled.
- No Ads (one-time purchase) guarantees that your account will never be shown ads that interrupt play. Ampe Rush does not show interrupting ads today, so for now No Ads changes nothing you will see. It is a way to support the game, and a guarantee for the future. Optional rewarded ads you choose to watch stay available.
- Starter Pack (once per account): 10 medallions, 5,000 cowries, 3 kente shields and the Sika Rose kente shirt.
5.No random paid items
No paid item in Ampe Rush has a random outcome. Every pack, perk, shop item and upgrade gives exactly the contents shown before you pay. This is true whether you pay with real money, medallions or cowries. The "Chest" is simply the name of the 140-medallion pack.
The only chance in the game is gameplay. Challengers sometimes carry cowries, shields or Adinkra artefacts during a run, and you win them by beating that challenger. These pickups cannot be bought, and nothing you pay for changes how often they appear.

The store sets the price you pay. Apple and Google charge in your local currency. Prices vary by country, and may include or add sales tax, VAT or other charges, and exchange rates. The App Store or Google Play shows the final price before you confirm, and that is the price that applies. We may change prices in the future. A change never affects a purchase you have already made.
7.How buying works
- Purchases are made and paid through the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms. We and our purchase provider RevenueCat receive the transaction details, never your card or bank details.
- If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before buying. Store parental controls (Apple's Ask to Buy, Google Family Link and purchase authentication) can require approval for every purchase. See Children & Families.
- Ampe Rush has no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically.
- You need an internet connection to buy, and for the purchase to reach your account.
8.Delivery and restoring purchases
- We deliver items as soon as the store confirms payment, usually within seconds. Medallions are credited to your balance. Cowries, shields, outfits and perks are added by our server, and the game shows "Adding to your account…" until they arrive.
- If a purchase does not arrive within a few minutes, tap Restore purchases in the store screen. If that doesn't help, email support@wontah.com with the subject "Purchase", your player ID (bottom of the Settings screen) and the store receipt or order number.
- One-time purchases (No Ads, Double Cowries and the Starter Pack's outfit) can be restored to another account signed in to the same store account. Consumables (medallions, cowries, shields) are delivered once and are not restored.
9.Refunds
The store you bought from handles refunds, under its own policy. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves, but we are happy to help.
- Apple App Store: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google Play: open your order history at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory, or follow Google's guide at support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637.
When a purchase is refunded, we remove what it gave you. That means the cowries and shields from it that you still have, and any perk or outfit it unlocked. Medallions from a refunded purchase may also be removed. If you have already spent part of a refunded purchase, we do not take your balance below zero.
10.Your right to cancel (EU, UK and similar laws)
If you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. For digital content, such as Virtual Items, that is supplied immediately, the right ends once supply begins, if you agreed to that. When you buy in Ampe Rush, you ask for the item to be delivered straight away. You also agree that you lose your right of withdrawal once it is delivered, as the store confirms at checkout. This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty or not as described. In that case, contact us or the store.
Other countries' consumer laws may give you similar or different rights, including Ghana's Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772). Nothing in this policy takes away rights you have under the law.
11.A licence, not property
- Virtual Items give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them in Ampe Rush. You do not own them, and they are not money, electronic money, or a deposit.
- They have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for real money, goods or anything outside the game, and we will not buy them back, except where the law requires it.
- They cannot be sold, transferred, traded or gifted, including between your own accounts. Buying them from anyone other than us through the official stores is not allowed, and such items may be removed.
12.Mistakes, chargebacks and corrections
- If a bug, a store error or our mistake gives you currency or items you should not have, we may correct your balance. If it takes away something you should have, tell us and we will put it right.
- If a payment is reversed through your bank or card (a chargeback), or obtained by fraud, we may remove what the purchase gave you. Where there is abuse, we may also restrict the account.
- Cheating or exploiting bugs to get Virtual Items breaks our Fair Play rules, and those items may be removed.
13.When Virtual Items end
Virtual Items do not expire while your account exists. They end only:
- when you delete your account (they cannot be restored afterwards);
- when we close your account under the Terms;
- if we discontinue Ampe Rush, in which case we will give you at least 30 days' notice in the game, and we will stop selling real-money items when we give that notice.
Where the law gives you a right to a refund in any of these cases, you keep it.
14.Changes to the economy
We may change what items do, what they cost in medallions or cowries, and how you earn them, to keep the game balanced and fair. We will not remove or reduce a one-time purchase you have already paid for without offering a fair alternative. For material changes to this policy, we will tell you in the game before they apply.
